Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Chibi Duckz Surfers doesn't collect your personal information itself. Our advertising partner, Google AdMob, collects some device data to show ads, and only after you've made your privacy choices.

This policy is effective November 1, 2026. It covers the Chibi Duckz Surfers app for iPhone and Android ("the app"), made by Chibi Duckz Corp ("we", "us").

Information we collect

We don't ask for your name, email or any account, and we don't run our own servers for the game.

Your progress stays on your device. That includes coins, stars, levels, duck color, settings and whether you've bought Remove Ads. We can't see it, and it's deleted when you delete the app. On Android, if you've turned on backup for your Google account, Android may include your progress in that backup so it comes back on a new phone; that backup is handled by Google, and we can't see it.

On iPhone, from version 1.0.1, your Golden Egg totals are also saved in your own iCloud account, so they survive deleting the app or moving to a new iPhone. Only egg counts and a random install code are stored, never your name or Apple Account details. Apple keeps this data under Apple's Privacy Policy, and we can't see it.

Advertising

The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the main menu, an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and optional reward ads you choose to watch. Buying Remove Ads turns off the banner and the between-run ads.

To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app may collect:

DataExampleUsed for
Device identifiersOn iPhone, Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking. On Android, your device's advertising IDChoosing and measuring ads
Approximate locationEstimated from your IP address; not GPSChoosing ads for your region
Ad interactionsAds shown, taps, rewards earnedMeasuring ads, preventing fraud
DiagnosticsCrash and performance data from the ad softwareFixing problems

Before any ads load, the app asks for your choices:

  1. Consent (EU, UK and similar regions). Google's consent form lets you accept or refuse personalized ads and data use. If you refuse, you may see limited or no ads.
  2. Apple tracking permission (iPhone). Apple then asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", Google can't use your advertising identifier and shows less personalized ads.
  3. Android advertising ID. Android doesn't ask app by app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's Settings > Privacy > Ads (the exact menu depends on your phone). Once it's deleted, Google can't use it and shows less personalized ads.

Google uses this data under its own policies: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

In-app purchases

On iPhone, Apple handles every purchase through the App Store, under Apple's Privacy Policy. On Android, Google handles every purchase through Google Play, under the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive your name, payment card, Apple Account or Google Account details. The app only learns which item you bought, so it can deliver it or restore it.

Your choices and rights

You can change your choices at any time:

If you live in the EU, UK or another place with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. We rely on your consent for personalized ads. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

If you live in California or another US state with privacy laws, you have the right to know what's collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for targeted ads. Choosing "Ask App Not to Track" on iPhone, deleting your advertising ID on Android, or refusing consent opts you out. We don't sell your information for money.

Because we don't hold your data, Google handles most requests about ad data: see Google's privacy controls. For anything else, contact us (below).

Children

The app is made for a general audience, not primarily for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).

The first time you open the app, it asks for your birth year, before any ads load. If you may be under 13, the app never asks to track you (on iPhone), and Google is told to treat every ad request as child-directed: no personalized ads, no advertising identifier, and only ads suitable for all ages. If you may be under 16, Google's consent form is told you're below the age of consent.

If you're a parent and think your child's data was collected, contact us and we'll help you get it deleted with Google.

Retention, transfers and security

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version at this address with a new effective date. Big changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.
